Almost ready to go

Finally received our visa approval letters, but it was too late to send them to the embassy for processing. So, we were given letters from the Vietnam government showing that our visas are approved but not yet issued. We will be able board the airplane next Wednesday with our "official" letter. Then, when we reach Hanoi, we are to proceed to a special desk for "visas on arrival". Should be no problem, but it would have been less stressful to actually have the documents in hand before we leave.

We are all prepared and looking forward to going next week. We will be doing a little work with the school's new water delivery and filtration system, but that effort will be ongoing, and reach completion after we leave. The majority of our time will be spent working with the children at the school--teaching them about hygiene, sharing gifts from the USA, and generally hanging out with them and getting to know them.

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support that have made this trip possible. I look forward to posting updates once we are settled in SaPa and sharing our experiences with you.
